Day 1: Almaty – Altyn Emel National Park – Basshi Village

Morning Departure from Almaty

Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Almaty. We travel towards Altyn Emel National Park, one of Kazakhstan’s most unique природные reserves, known for its desert landscapes, colorful mountains, and rare wildlife.

Highlights of the Day:

🏜 Singing Dune

One of the park’s most famous attractions is the 150-meter-high Singing Dune. When the wind blows, the sand produces a deep humming sound, creating a magical desert atmosphere. Climb to the top for panoramic views of the Ili River and surrounding mountains.

🎨 Aktau Mountains (White Mountains)

Next, we explore the stunning Aktau Mountains, often called the “Mars of Kazakhstan.” These colorful rock formations were shaped over millions of years and create a surreal, photogenic landscape perfect for walking and photography.

After a full day of exploration, we head to Basshi Village, the gateway to Altyn Emel National Park.
